You know that I make all kinds of jewelry, hatbands, bolo ties, instrument cozies, & woven wire wall art. Well, I also love to write. But you may not know that I've written a poem about true and enduring love. Working at Texas Tech frequently put me around ‘young love,’ and I would give the poem to couples when they announced an engagement. Then, being a creative type, I paired each verse with one of Bob’s photos from an amazing trip we took to Butchart Gardens in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia and turned it all into a little book. I discovered that people like to buy it as a couples gift for weddings, anniversaries, first Christmas gifts, etc. It is now available on my website in both a hardback and softback version. The hardback has a lovely cover & heavy duty pages, and in the softback I included a TO/FROM/DATE page. It defines love as emotional, physical, & mental and offers hints for both celebrating and insulating a lasting relationship.
Here’s a short video about it.
And here’s a link to the collection where you can peek inside either version.
If you’re about to be involved in a wedding, here’s a link to some of my wedding inspired jewelry!
I hope you’re having a wonderful summer. If you live in the Texas Hill Country, know that we’re sending up many prayers for you and have contributed to relief efforts.
The garden is hanging on in spite of receiving heavy hail damage THREE times. So far we've enjoyed fresh corn, cabbage, green beans, & squash.
I can’t believe school starts here in less than a month! And the Texas All-State audition etudes have been released, so learning those starts up in earnest with my fluties.
Blessings,
Anna
